Our competitions.
We organise a number of annual events and season-long competitions for the society members. Each event is intended to foster a healthy combination of fun and competitiveness.
Invitational.
Typically the event that gets the season kick-started in spring. Society members can invite non-members to join this stableford event played at Alsace Golf Links.
The 2026 invitational will take place on April 25th, 2026.
Captain’s Day.
The Basel Baggers Captain role rotates on an annual basis. One of the main responsibilities of the Captain is to organise the Captain’s Day event.
Previous venues for Captain’s Day include: Golf de Kempferhof, Golfclub Souflenheim, Golf du Château de Bournel.
The date and venue of the 2026 Captain’s Day will be announced by the Captain in due course.
Championship.
The Basel Baggers Championship is usually the only stroke play event of the season, played off the back tees at Alsace Golf Links.
This event should test the players to determine the best net and gross player in the society.
The 2025 Championship took place on September 14th, 2025.
Matchplay.
We have a season-long matchplay competition running. At the end of the season, the last man/woman standing will be crowned the Basel Baggers Matchplay champion.
Tour.
The annual Tour is a 2-day stableford competition. The Tour has both taken place close to the Basel area and farther away from home. Amongst others, areas/venues include France (Burgundy, Champagne) and Spain (Desert Springs Golf Club, PGA Cataluna Resort).
The 2026 Tour will take place June 13-14, 2026 at Crans Montana.
